What is the FSR PAF?

The Student Council of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy is a dedicated group of physics, material science, and photonics students who volunteer to support their peers. Every year, fifteen members are elected. However, they receive additional support from voluntary members known as eFSR (extended FSR). All members of the student body at our faculty are eligible to vote. This includes: B.Sc. Physics, Teaching Physics, M.Sc. Physics, M.Sc. Photonics, B.Sc. Materials Science, M.Sc. Materials Science

What does the FSR PAF do?

Whenever you have questions, ambiguities, or problems concerning your studies at the PAF, feel free to contact us. You can either send an email to fsr[at]paf.uni-jena.de, call 03641/9-47095, or visit our office during our office hours, though usually there is always someone present at our office, situated at Max-Wien-Platz 1.

Through the student representatives’ allocation of your semester fee, we organize a variety of events, including introduction days and faculty meetups.

Additionally, we foster connections with the student councils of other universities, participating in events such as the bi-semester Federal Conference on Physics (ZaPF) and the Conference on Materials Science (KaWuM).

We regularly update you on our activities through a newsletter or socials. If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so here on your own. Unfortunately, this document is currently available only in German. We are in the process of creating an English version. If you need assistance completing it, please feel free to contact us.
