Science Slam

We would like to warmly invite you to an evening full of exciting topics, fun, and fascination for science. On 02.07.2026, we want to host
a Science Slam, organized as a joint project by a whole handful of student department councils (FSRe). You can look forward to exciting
topics from computer science, physics and astronomy, mathematics, psychology, chemistry, biology, or the geosciences! Here’s a quick
overview of the key facts:

What?          -> Science slam (presentations in German or English language)
When?         -> 02.07.2026 at 7 PM
Where?        -> Lecture Hall 2, Carl-Zeiss-Straße 3
Who?           -> all students, PhD students, professors, and anyone else who enjoys scientific topics

Of course, for the Science Slam to take place, we also need slammers! If you…

… have already done research on something on your own (as part of your bachelor’s thesis, master’s thesis, PhD, or as a professor) or simply
have a topic you are passionate about,

… could imagine presenting this topic to an audience in a funny and accessible way within 7–9 minutes, even if they (probably) have little
or no prior knowledge,

… would like the chance to win first place and a small prize,

then feel free to simply write us an e-mail until 07.06.2026 at fsr@paf.uni-jena.de .

We are really looking forward to your contributions if you would like to take part in the slam — and otherwise, of course, to having you there as
an enthusiastic audience bringing lots of energy! 🙂
